You can use traffic splitting to specify a percentage distribution of traffic between two or more destination URLs. It is also a technique used to verify the conversion efficiency of two or more versions of the same landing page (if you are interested in A/B split testing, read this article).
Our engine offers traffic splitting through the "Smart Balancer" option of the tracking links.
It is a link rotator that allows you to route visitors to different destination URLs by using specific rules. Available rules are:
- sequential: on each visits, it redirects visitors to the next (defined) destination URL,
- weighted: with this setting you can allocate (percentage) how much traffic goes to each destination URL,
- random: it redirects randomly to a defined destination URL,
- switching over: it redirects each visitor starting from the first (defined) destination URL. If the visitor returns, he/she will redirected to the next (defined) destination URL.
